Charles de GAULLE - Letter autograph signed 1947

Autograph letter signed to Madame Brosset, mother of General Diego Brosset. September 17, 1947; 2 pages in-8 ° on letterhead.

General De Gaulle responds favorably to the invitation of General Brosset's mother, whose memory he greets: "Your kind invitation has touched me deeply. We will have my wife and I the honor to go there for lunch Saturday. It will be for me a great satisfaction to see the mother of my dear Brosset and talk about him, remembering who I will be until my own end deeply faithful (...) "

General Diego Brosset (1898 - 1944) died in November 1944 at the age of 46 at the wheel of his jeep trying to avoid a hole on a bridge. General atypical, he is a member of General de Gaulle's staff in London, missioned to Africa, he participates in the landing in France.
