This month we invite you to discover an original painting by Hans Hartung,
a figurehead of avant-garde abstract painting.
"Not to represent anymore - what I like to do is to act upon the canvas..."
His expressive style and his use of black lines recall calligraphy
and have made him a pioneering figure of the Lyrical Abstraction movement.
This original acrylic on canvas from 1975 is from a period during which he had already acheived international recognition.
At this period, Hartung was already part of the selection of artists for the exhibition "Thirty creators" at the Revue Galerie-Jardin des Arts, where his works were displayed alongside Alechinsky,
Olivier Debré and Pierre Soulages.
