Terracotta dignitary head with a beautiful cream color. The face has almond eyes worked in relief. The emaciated appearance is reinforced by a prominent eagle beak overhanging a thin mouth with fleshy lips. Large ears are pierced with four holes intended to accommodate tambas (ear pendants). The hair is delimited by a line framing the top of the face thus accentuating the important cranial deformation.

The deformation of the skull on the American continent has accompanied the development of the Andean communities since at least the 6th millennium BC. AD and becomes an almost universal practice on the Pacific coast around 3500-3000 BC. The deformation of the skull makes it possible to distinguish peoples from one another, imprints indelibly in the body the belonging to a group, and adorns and embellishes the individuals, marks social status, refers to religion, cosmology, beliefs and rites of initiation.
