WILFRED was born in 1954 into a family of artists from Shanghai. He began creating watercolours at the age of seven. After learning traditional painting from his father, he attended art schools in China and Hong Kong where he began his contemporary work.
Since 1977, Wilfred has traveled extensively and exhibited his work in Hawaii, New York, Hong Kong and Europe. Recently, Amsterdam has become his second homeland, he wants to make his art known to the world.
Wilfred's work is inspired by elements of the East and Western culture. He turned to abstract representation by transforming the themes of human figures, birds, tree branches and rocks into linear configurations without form designation. Rich in colour and light, these works seek to create a dialogue with the viewer.
