Pearl :
Pearl are naturally found in molluscum. They can also be "cultivated" which means that a nucleus has been artificially introduced into the shell in order to induce the production of a pearl by the molluscum.
Cultured pearls :
Cultured pearls are the response of a pearl oyster to a man made tissue implant. This technique is used in Japan (Akoya pearls), in Australia, in Tahiti and China (fresh water pearl oysters).
