He then drew the Salon posters from 1973 to 1974. His works are present in the Pop Art Dictionnary of José Pierre, published in 1974. Although he is younger than ther other artists of the movement « Figuration narrative », he is however associated to it, and he took part in 1977 in the exhibition « Mythologies quotidiennes » at the Musée d'Art Moderne de la ville de Paris. In 1973, he made the decors and costumes of the Ballet Théâtre Contemporain (Contemporary Ballet-Theatre). Ivan Messac also leaned towards sculptures, and worked in Carrare. His first sculptures date back to 1983. Alain Malvoisin wrote an article about him in "Le Dictionnaire de la sculpture moderne et contemporaine" (the Modern and Contemporary Sculpture Dictionnary) published in November 2008. Public commissions offered him the possibility of developing this artistic production. Since 2003, shis work has been shown in several exhibitions dedicated to Narrative Figuration.
