Pure Evil (1968-)(1968-) is a graffiti artist whose real name is Charles Uzzell-Edwards. He is based in London where he runs his own gallery, in Shoreditch. Charles Uzzell-Edwards started to get interested in Art very young, as his father was a painter. In the 1990's, he moved to the USA and settled in San Francisco where he worked as a designer for the clothing label Anarchic Adjustment. He also got involved into electronic music. During his 10 years as an expatriate, Street Art was clearly his biggest artistic discovery. He was influenced in the beginning by Twist and Reminisce, and started leaving slogans in the streets and on shops. Back in the UK, he built himself his "Pure Evil" name thanks to his fanged-bunnies, that could be seen in numerous streets of London. The symbol proliferated, and so did Pure Evil. His first personal exhibitions took place in 2006 and 2007. The success of these shows enabled him to open his own gallery, the "Pure Evil Gallery", in the Shoreditch area of London, late 2007. Since then, he exhibited a bit everywhere in the world.
